About the
Watford Muslim Community Project
The Watford Muslim Community Project has been
serving members of the community, in particular the Muslim community of Watford and surrounding areas, since 1980. Presently, it employs 3 full-time and 1
part-time staff and is managed by an elected executive committee comprising of 12 members. The Project
provides advice on welfare rights, debt, housing, health, social security, immigration, education,
translations, passports, visa forms, domestic violence, drugs related issues as well as general advice on many other matters.
On average, the Watford Muslim Community Project provides assistance to over 5,000 people a year. It is financially supported by Watford Borough Council, Hertfordshire County Council, The Pension Service and Watford & Three Rivers Primary Care Trust. The project works in partnership with Watford Mosques Committee, Watford Muslim Elders Association, Al-Zahra Centre, Watford Muslim Women’s Association, Citizens Advice Bureau, Multi-Racial Community Centre, Watford Racial
Equality Council, Watford Women’s Centre, Hertfordshire Constabulary and Watford Fire Services.

The Project is:
- Quality Marked by the Community Legal Services Commission.
- Approved by the Office of Immigration Services Commissioner to undertake immigration advice work.
- Designated as an Alternative Office by the Pension Service to verify documents.
